technical support for AmiBroker registered users
Prompt, personal technical
support is provided via e-mail only:
support@amibroker.com
Please do
not request us to contact you by phone. We do not provide phone
support as we are a small company with inexpensive software
so we have to keep costs in check. When you e-mail for
support from amibroker.com you will get a response from highly
skilled technical staff or from the
developer himself.
There are
several public forums where you can also get help from other users
(see below)
How long does
it take to get the answer?
Installation and basic
support questions (see below) are answered within 24 hours (usually
1-3 hours in office hours). Advanced support (see below) question
may take a few days depending on complexity and time availability.
Regular support is
open 5 days a week from Monday to Friday (8:00-18:00 GMT).
We also do our best to answer also during
weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and
holidays but response time is usually longer, especially for
non-emergency issues.
Support is closed on
Christmas holiday (24, 25, 26 December), New Year (1 January).
Please do not flood us with repeated e-mails. Repeated requests
put your issue at the end of waiting queue.
What is included
in free support package?
Every registered user
receives for free:
- unlimited support
for installation issues
( The following are criteria for Installation Support: Single
desktop install only. Hardware peripherals must be connected
directly to machine via cable. Network installation and network
hardware are excluded.
The product setup program will not run to completion.
Immediately after installation is completed, odd behavior or
specific errors are encountered. )
- unlimited support
issues for basic usage (charting, help on single AFL functions,
ASCII import, Metastock import, setting up data plugin)
- basic programming
questions (how to write a loop, how to define user function,
etc)
What is not
included for free?
- third-party data issues
- third-party plugin
issues (we can not help with something we did not write)
- writing formulas on customer request (custom programming)
- debugging customer's
code
- debugging / writing
DLLs
- help on 3rd party
tools
- consultation on
C/C++, complex JScript, VBScript programming
If you noticed weird
behaviour with third-party data source and/or third-party plugin,
the very first thing to do is to turn
OFF the plugin and/or try the same on local database. If problem
can not be reproduced on local database or our own supported
plugins then you need to bring the issue with the data/plugin
vendor because we can not fix somebody's else code/data.
At the moment custom programming service
is available for small projects only (i.e. upto 3 hours of
programming) . Please contact support via e-mail for an estimate.
Standard
rate is $80/hour of custom programming. You may also consider
3rd party programming
